And welcome to my humble corner of the internet; a project which I’ve dubbed ‘Mighty Memos’ as I share memos from my moments with God that I hope will help you to walk boldly in God’s image and embrace all the beautiful ways that He wants to shape your life!
A bit about me: I’m a wife, a writer, a fur-mum to a beautiful Boston Terrier and right now, I’m enjoying being a homemaker. Hubby and I live in Perth, Australia… the most isolated city in the world, but one that we are proud to call our home.
I’ve had a short lived career in marketing, but I’ve been a writer since I was able to hold a pen and as a child, I thought I wanted to be a psychiatrist. I’ve since learned that I really don’t want to be a psychiatrist… but young Anastasia was onto something, because I do want to help people.
I’ve had multiple iterations of my efforts to help others. Years back, I used to run a very successful mental health blog and even wrote a book. What an immense privilege that was. My thinking in that chapter of my life was messy and raw and filled with error, and I’ve (thankfully) learned a lot and changed a lot since then. I’m glad that chapter of my life concluded, but my desire to help others has never ceased.
I haven’t always walked with God. In fact, my journey with Christ only began earlier in 2019… but now, as I look back at my life - I realise that He was there all along.
I now know that the trials and tribulations and challenges were all there to shape me, teach me and mould me into who God needed me to be, so that I would be better equipped to step up, share and help others.
When I let Jesus into my heart, despite having everything that I needed for a fantastic life… I was in a season of sorrow and paralysis, trapped in patterns and chains that were getting tighter by the day. But God stepped in, broke those chains and set me free. I am renewed, resurrected, and SO full of passion, zeal and absolute enthusiasm to live my life to serve God and change the world in some beautiful ways.
I’m still figuring out how I can be the best servant to His kingdom that I can, but what I do know is that I feel called to encourage women… to help women walk with Christ, embrace their gifts and be who the WORD wants them to be, not who the WORLD wants them to be.
God has given me the gift of a way with words and an artistic heart, and I want to best channel them for worship and encouragement.
So here we are - Mighty Memos.
A name fitting of the purpose that I feel, which is mighty. My wonderful husband helped me brainstorm the name as we sat on the floor with our dog, and when we came up with it, I felt like it clicked into place.
Here, I aim to be mighty helpful. Mighty encouraging. Mighty supportive. And mighty motivating.
I want to help women to live a life of kindness, love and joy - because Lord knows the world needs more of that.
I believe that each of us are called to serve a purpose and however small, insignificant or strange we may feel, it’s up to harness our gifts and use our talents for good. Because when we pass our blessings on to others… that’s when the world really starts to change in amazing ways!
I believe that a lot of woman feel lost... I know I’ve certainly felt that way. A lot of us walk paths that feel wrong, that don’t help us or that actively destroy us. A lot of us are searching for connection and solidarity, often in all the wrong places and ways. A lot of us want to do something… but feel trapped, paralysed or confused by who we are beyond the job title that’s assigned to us.
I hope that I can encourage you to look at things differently, to move past the labels and narrative that you’ve assigned to yourself and to seek bigger - better - bolder - braver - for your life.
With love and blessings.
